I start with the channel, not the idea.
When I get stuck while brainstorming, I often try to start from the end.
Instead of coming up with a concept and then deciding on the right media channel for it, I first choose a channel and then look for an idea that fits.
It also helps with integrated campaigns, where one concept runs on many channels.
